SAMOA Birthday Weekend at Virginia City
August 27-29, 2021 (Friday - Sunday)

Since we are still in transition after Covid, this will be a smaller version of the cancelled birthday party for 2020.

Friday - travel to Virginia City. Lunch and dinner are on your own.
Friday night - the Club may use the Manager's Suite as a hospitality room (no cost to the Club). Club members may bring snacks and drinks, but no guest alcohol outside of hotel rooms.
Friday Night Moonlight Drive - 6 Mile Canyon Road from Virginia City to Highway 50, then loop back through Gold Hill.
Saturday continental breakfast - in breakfast room, no charge. Includes coffee, juice, bagels, sweet rolls, and instant oatmeal. Club members may bring additional items for breakfast.
Saturday - Mike De Laurentis-Designed Drive - including lunch at JT's Basque Restaurant in Gardnerville, and perhaps a drink in Genoa at the Oldest Thirst Parlor in Nevada.
Saturday night dinner - we may have a scheduled dinner together, or we may be on our own, depending on the number of Club members who attend for the weekend. Additional information to follow.
Sunday continental breakfast - in breakfast room, no charge. Includes coffee, juice, bagels, sweet rolls, and instant oatmeal. Club members may bring additional items for breakfast.
Sunday - after breakfast, you are on your own. You may wish to check out the Other Activities, below.

The hotel is blocking rooms until July 1, 2021, so interested Club members should book soon.
Room rate (plus tax): King bed: $112, double Queen beds: $122, Junior Suite: $129, Large Suite: $139. Reserve rooms directly by telephone, and mention SAMOA. No payment at booking, balance due upon check-in. You may cancel anytime prior to the check-in date, without cost.
When you make your hotel reservation, please also send me a confirming email at mboersma57@gmail.com so I know you are planning to attend. You will not get the follow-up information emails if you do not contact me.
Hotel amenities: pool and spa, bar, large parking lot, various meeting areas and patios, wild horses and expansive views.

Other Virginia City Activities: Historical building tours (Comstock Lode silver mining history), wild horse tours, Virginia and Truckee Railroad rides, and the Comstock Cowboys band should be playing at the Bucket of Blood saloon on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 2 - 6pm (local men will be well-armed - ask Martin about the 601 Vigilance Committee).
