Twist & Shout

Saturday, August 14, 2021

8:30 a.m. gather, 9 a.m. depart

Event Leaders: Bob & Genny Paauwe

Meeting point: McDonald’s 3356 Coach Lane, Cameron Park

We’ll have you dancing in your seat on this trip through El Dorado County on twisty and scenic foothill and mountain roads (does anyone know how to yodel?). Get ready for a longer drive (almost 130 miles) that will take us past Jenkinson Lake and up to Silver Fork, then down Mormon Emigrant Trail to some back roads into Pollock Pines, Camino, Placerville and finally, Shingle Springs where we will enjoy a late lunch.

Please come fueled up with gasoline and food, knowing lunch will be mid-afternoon. We will be making a couple of short bio breaks on this trip, but will be finishing the drive around 1:30 p.m. at locally owned The Breakroom in Shingle Springs where we have the event room reserved. They have yummy food and a nice beer selection (see full menu here: https://www.breakroomeatery.com/menu#menu=the-breakroom-menu). Note that a an 18% gratuity will be automatically added to your bill.

The restaurant can accommodate 40 people (dancing and good-humored shouting optional), so that is the participant cap for this event. RSVP by August 12 to have printed route instructions provided to you the morning of the event.
