WEEKEND SCHEDULE
Friday - travel to Virginia City. Lunch and dinner are on your own.
Friday night - the Club will use the Manager's Suite as a hospitality room (no cost to the Club), which is located across the hall from the breakfast room. Club members may bring snacks and drinks, but no guest alcohol outside of hotel rooms and the Manager's Suite.
Friday Night Starlit Drive - 6 Mile Canyon Road from Virginia City to Highway 50, then loop back through Gold Hill. Please indulge lightly before the drive, and have a nightcap with me when we return.
Saturday continental breakfast - in breakfast room, no charge. Includes coffee, juice, bagels, sweet rolls, and instant oatmeal. Club members may bring additional items for breakfast.
Saturday Drive - attendees may assemble a sack lunch after breakfast (Club will provide the food) or bring other snacks, then go on a run designed by Frank Gontarski and Bob Castelli (including a photo op on Monitor Pass if it is open). We will return to the hotel with time to rest and freshen up before heading to dinner in Gardnerville. The drive from Virginia City to Gardnerville is approximately 45 minutes.
Saturday night dinner - 5:00pm in Gardnerville - we will have dinner together at JT's Basque Restaurant. This will be a Basque family-style dinner at long tables of 20 persons each. We will sample picon punch, then enjoy soup, salad, sirloin steak, Basque-seasoned chicken, stew, beans, red wine, coffee, and ice cream for dessert. Fixed cost is $40 cash per person at the door, including tax and tip.
Please email me at mboersma57@gmail.com if you wish to attend dinner, so I can give the restaurant a final head count. If you have never experienced a Basque-style dinner, you are in for a new treat! After dinner, we will return to our hotel, and we will have time to gather and relax together in the evening. Be sure to check out the stars from the lower level patio overlooking 6 Mile Canyon.
Sunday continental breakfast - in breakfast room, no charge. Includes coffee, juice, bagels, sweet rolls, and instant oatmeal. Club members may bring additional items for breakfast.
Sunday - after breakfast, you are on your own. You may wish to check out the Other Activities, below.
